About AsianTech

AsianTech is a software development firm based in Da Nang, Vietnam. At the time of this transaction, the company employed approximately 200 professionals, primarily programmers and project directors, and had set a target to scale to 500 professionals by the end of 2015 while serving approximately 100 client projects. AsianTech was recognized as one of Da Nang's largest software development companies.

About Sekai Lab

Sekai Lab was a global offshore development platform enabling Japanese companies to outsource mobile application and system development to engineering teams around the world. At the time of this transaction, Sekai Lab had built a partner network of software development companies across Southeast Asia and beyond, totaling approximately 300 teams and 7,000 engineers, organized as delivery-ready units complete with directors and project managers. The platform matched clients with the most suitable team based on budget and project requirements.

Strategic Rationale

This transaction represented a deliberate evolution of Sekai Lab's global offshore development platform, from a network of loosely affiliated partner companies to an integrated model anchored by direct capital relationships. By bringing AsianTech, previously a registered partner, into the group as a subsidiary, Sekai Lab strengthened its ability to manage project delivery at a higher level of rigor, to take on larger-scale system development engagements, and to deliver development work from secure office environments. For AsianTech, joining the group provided access to capital that allowed the company to scale its workforce in line with demand, free from the funding constraints typical of an independent local firm.
